California Bill Seeking to Overturn Collision Repair Labor Rate Survey Regulations Scheduled for Hearing May 16

May 11, 2018 By CollisionWeek Editor

California Assembly Bill 2276 (AB 2276), that seeks to modify collision repair labor survey regulations that came into effect last year, has been scheduled for a hearing before the Assembly Appropriations Committee on May 16. The legislation, similar to proposed legislation (AB 1679) that died in the Appropriations Committee earlier this year, was approved by the Assembly Insurance Committee by a vote of 13-0 in April.

Beyond modifying regulations covering how insurance company survey of collision repair labor rates are conducted, the legislation would remove restrictions against an insurer requiring a collision repair shop to pay for a rental vehicle
