Compared to the same month the previous year, traffic volume decreased for the first time in four years
Travel volume in February decreased on a year-over-year basis. The decline marks the first lower traffic volume rate since back to back declines in January and February 2014. Increased driving, coupled with higher numbers of new, insured vehicles, has supported higher collision repair industry volume and auto physical damage insurance claims across the U.S.
Travel for the month of February is estimated at 226.7 billion vehicle miles nationwide according to the most recent data released by the Federal Highway Administration.
