Collision repair consumers now have same legal protection of repair facility choice that glass repair consumers have had in Wisconsin since 1991.
On November 11, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker signed an act, 2015 Wisconsin Act 93, prohibiting an insurance company from requiring in an auto insurance policy that repairs to a motor vehicle are made by a specific contractor or repair facility. Any policy that includes language inconsistent with the act, the act applies following renewal of the policy.
The law took effect November 13.
