Auto physical damage indicators influencing the collision repair industry declined on a quarter by quarter basis for the first time in five years in the third quarter of 2017. Claims and losses continue above year ago levels.
According to the latest available Fast Track Monitoring system data from the Independent Statistical Service Inc. (ISS), private passenger collision claims and losses declined in the U.S. during the third quarter of 2017 compared to the second quarter, but were up versus the same quarter in 2016. The number of collision claims has grown in every quarter since 2012 on a quarterly basis
