Thatcham Research Exiting Aftermarket Collision Repair Parts Certification in the UK

Following an in-depth review and assessment of the certification of aftermarket collision repair parts, and consultation with its insurance members, Thatcham Research in the United Kingdom has decided to hand over all aftermarket parts certification activities to its current partner TÜV Rheinland AG.

Thatcham Research logoThe Thatcham Research/TÜV Rheinland partnership will officially end on March 31, with Thatcham Research not providing any new aftermarket parts certification services as January 1.

According to Thatcham, the move will allow it to invest more resources into the priority areas of active safety systems and vehicle structures/materials, that are increasingly contributing to collision repair costs. In
