According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, General Motors (NYSE:GM) is planning to incorporate carbon fiber into its next generation full size pickup trucks. The move comes as vehicle manufacturers have sought to reduce the mass of its full size pickup trucks to meet increasing fuel economy requirements.
According to the article, GM will use carbon fiber on the beds of premium versions of its pickup trucks. According to unnamed sources referenced in the article, GM will introduce redesigned versions of its pickup truck in coming weeks
