May vehicle traffic growth rate 83 percent higher than April. Traffic volume up 2.2 percent for the month.
Travel volume in May continued to grow following the rebound in April after slower growth in March. The growth is continuing the trend of increased driving that has led to increasing collision repair industry volume and auto physical damage insurance claims across the U.S.
Travel for the month of May is estimated at 267.2 billion vehicle miles nationwide according to the most recent data released by the Federal Highway Administration.
May’s traffic volume represents an increase of 2.2 percent or 5.9 billion
