Tennessee Bill Seeks to Require Non-OEM Collision Repair Part Disclosure on Estimates

Bill would require insurers and collision repair facilities to include written disclosure of any aftermarket crash parts.

Tennessee Senate Bill 768 (SB 768), introduced by Senator John Stevens, seeks to amend the Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 56, relative to crash parts, to include a new section that would require exterior non-OEM collision repair parts to include distinct manufacturer marks and include consumer disclosure statements with estimates prepared by insurers and collision repair facilities.

The bill would add a new section that would require non-OEM metal and plastic crash parts to have the name or logo of the manufacturer affixed or inscribed
