EPA Proposing to Keep Vehicle Emissions Standards in Place Through 2025

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator seeks to secure greenhouse gas emission standards for MY 2022-2025 vehicles before Obama Administration leaves office. 

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy yesterday shocked the automotive industry by proposing to leave greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions standards for model years 2022-2025 in place. The proposal was not expected until next year and final determination had not been expected until 2018 based upon the timeline the EPA had published last summer in conjunction with the release of its mid-term review technical assessment.
