Both production employment and hours worked increased in August compared to July. Production continues above 2015 levels.
An analysis of the latest data released from the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), shows that total production for the collision repair industry was up in August versus the previous month and was up from August 2015. Production was above the pre-recession peak of March 2008.
The industry’s total production, which we define as the total average weekly hours per month multiplied by the total number of production and non-supervisory workers employed each month, was 7.26 million man hours
