Solera Reports AI-Powered Estimating Cuts Cycle Times, Boosts Shop Revenue

December 12, 2025 By CollisionWeek Editor

Collision repair facilities using Solera’s Qapter AI estimating platform are reporting faster estimate turnaround and improved financial performance, according to the company.

The platform, powered by Solera’s Visual Intelligence and Repair Science, reduces estimate creation time from as much as several days to under 20 minutes, Solera said. A repair facility employee photographs the damaged vehicle, the software generates an estimate in approximately three minutes, and an estimator reviews and finalizes the document.

Repairs can be scheduled immediately, reducing delays and improving satisfaction.

Sebastian Torres, owner and general manager of CARSTAR Torcam Group.

Sebastian Torres, owner and general manager of CARSTAR Torcam Group, said the technology has driven a 17% increase in monthly sales at his facilities.

“As we continue to mature as an industry, the importance of technological investment has become far greater than it was five years ago,” Torres said. “It is better to be ahead of the curve than to have to catch up. Doing so has already proven its value, driving a 17 percent increase in monthly sales, and will continue to ensure growth opportunities and the ability to run a business operation far more efficient and profitable than the competition.”

CARSTAR Torcam Group operates four locations in Brantford, Simcoe and Tillsonburg, Ontario, Canada.

Bill Brower, senior vice president of global industry relations and claims solutions at Solera, said the benefits extend beyond speed.

“AI-driven estimating is not just about speed,” Brower said. “It is about accuracy, consistency, and creating a better experience for customers and shops alike. This technology is redefining what efficiency looks like in claims.”

Solera reported that shops using the platform have seen repair cycle times improve by 25 percent, backlogs reduced by up to 70 percent, and intake time cut from days to minutes.

According to Solera, the global AI market is projected to reach $244 billion in 2025 and collision repair is one of the fastest-moving sectors.
