Long Island Collision Repair Shop Owner Sentenced for Sales Tax Fraud

Shop owner pleaded guilty to stealing New York State taxes after failing to report over $2.8 million in taxable sales.

The owner of several collision repair facilities in East Islip, N.Y. pleaded guilty to grand larceny and was sentenced for stealing sales tax. Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced in July that Brian Soltan, 62, of West Islip, N.Y. and owner of several East Islip auto body repair businesses was sentenced after pleading guilty to grand larceny for stealing sales tax money from New York State. The District Attorney also announced that the owner of Farmingdale-based furniture stores
