While the first positive result in more than a year thanks to a weak August last year, volumes remain flat for the third consecutive month.
For the third consecutive month, US Light Vehicle sales totaled 1.13 million units, according to LMC Automotive, the automotive forecasting and market intelligence firm, a GlobalData company. However, a weak August in 2021 and an extra selling day in 2022 made the month register the first positive yearly comparison since July 2021. Sales grew by 4% year-on-year (YoY), still constrained by lean inventories and affected by record-high transaction prices.
