Toyota announced that automatic emergency braking (AEB) technology will be available as standard equipment across almost every Toyota and Lexus model in the U.S. by the end of 2017. Doing so will beat, by four years, the 2022 target announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and 20 vehicle manufacturers, including Toyota, last week.
