Florida Legislation Seeks to Prohibit Repairers from Offering Incentives on Glass Claims

House and Senate Bills would make it illegal to offer customers anything of value to handle their insurance glass claim.

Two bills filed for the 2020 legislative session in Florida seek to prohibit repair facilities from offering potential customers an incentive to handle their auto glass insurance claims. Florida House Bill 169 (HB 169) and Senate Bill 312, include language that would revise Chapter 559 section 920 that defines unlawful acts and practices in the repair of motor vehicles to include a section governing glass claims.
