Son and Daughter-in-Law of Collision Repair Shop Owner Among Those Killed in El Paso

August 9, 2019 By CollisionWeek Editor

Gilbert Anchondo, owner of Colormaster Auto Body Shop in El Paso, Texas lost his son Andre, 23, and Andre’s wife Jordan, 24, during the shooting last weekend at a Walmart in El Paso. According to press reports, Andre and his wife were killed protecting their two-month-old son, Paul, who survived the attack.

Gilbert Anchondo was interviewed by the BBC at his shop in the video embedded below.

Gilbert learned of the Andre’s death the following day at a family reunification center set up in response to the shooting.

“They told me Andre wasn’t with us,” Gilbert said to the BBC. “And then they told me I had done a good job with him, because he was a protector of his family. He had got between the bullets, flying between his wife and child. And Jordan did what she was supposed to, protecting little Paul.

Andre had worked at his father’s body shop until leaving recently to start his own auto repair business according to an article in the Washington Post.
