Senate Bill seeks to amend the Illinois Automotive Collision Repair Act to require repair facilities to follow OEM procedures.
Legislation introduced on February 15 in Illinois seeks to prohibit repair facilities and installers from using procedures that do not comply with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications. Senate Bill 2104 (SB 2104) would also expand existing consumer aftermarket collision repair parts disclosure requirements in the Illinois Automotive Collision Repair Act (ACRA) to include written authorization by the consumer. Existing law requires repair facilities and insurers to disclose that non-OEM parts are being used in writing.
