The cover story in the latest edition of the Insurance Industry for Highway Safety (IIHS) Status Report examines improvements in headlight performance that, while benefiting safety, are often leading to higher collision repair costs.
The report includes IIHS ratings of headlight performance on 2018 model vehicles. According to IIHS, since most vehicle buyers don’t test drive vehicles at night, the ratings can help consumers understand how well their headlights will perform.

Just what did the insurance institute think was going to happen when they started demanding safer vehicles.
The fact is every mufacturer is looking to get the instituets approvial.
Then the Insurance institute demands better safety at any cost which everyone should know will cost more to repair.
Then when the price is higher than they think it should they cry about it.
Can’t do all the R&D and manafacturing without increases in cost to someone.
