On Monday, the U.S. Senate passed Senate Bill 3217 (S.3217) to reauthorize the Perkins Act that provides support for career and technical education programs across the country. The bill comes after several weeks of intense negotiations and hard work by the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee and its staff.
Business and education groups are supporting the bill, but education advocates hope for improvements.
