The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is making $20 million available to fund enforcement programs targeting impaired driving, distracted driving, speeding, reckless driving and seat belt use, the agency announced Aug. 3.
The Innovative Traffic Safety Enforcement grant program will fund projects that develop, test and validate enforcement methods that state and local agencies can replicate elsewhere. NHTSA said it expects to make 10 awards, with a $500,000 minimum per award and a Sept. 1, 2027, application deadline.
