The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has extended deadlines for employers to contest workplace safety citations issued during the recent government funding lapse, the Labor Department announced Dec. 2.
The agency resumed normal enforcement operations after a shutdown that ran from Oct. 1 through Nov. 12. During that period, OSHA received safety and health complaints that did not meet criteria for processing and has now begun working through the backlog.
