New Federal Legislative Right to Repair Proposal Announced

ASA, Auto Alliance and SCRS propose federal legislation that builds upon their 2023 data sharing agreement. Announcement follows Alliance loss in Massachusetts Right to Repair lawsuit.

In a move the supporters say is designed to preserve the competitive landscape of automotive repair and to ensure consumer safety, three major industry organizations, the Automotive Service Association (ASA), Alliance for Automotive Innovation, and the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS), have jointly announced their proposed Safety as First Emphasis (SAFE) Repair Act Repair Act.
