Nearly 7,000 Autoworkers at Stellantis Ram Truck Plant Join the UAW Strike

Over 40,000 now on strike. Stellantis cancels plans to attend SEMA, LA Auto Show.

The United Auto Workers (UAW) announced today that 6,800 union members at the Stellantis Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP) in Sterling Heights, Mich. joined the union’s strike, shutting down production at Stellantis’ largest plant.

The workers who make Stellantis’ RAM 1500 trucks are joining the strike at all three of the Big Three automakers. The unannounced walkout at SHAP brings the total number of UAW members on strike at the Big Three automakers to over 40,000, as the strike nears the six-week mark.
