Traffic declined versus both previous month and year but was slightly up compared to June 2019 before the pandemic.
June traffic was down compared to the previous month and June 2021 as gasoline prices hit record highs. The June result marks the first year-on-year decline since February 2021 during the pandemic. Traffic on a year-on-year basis had grown for 15 straight months starting in March 2021 that benefited from the comparison to the first month that the pandemic lockdowns drove traffic volume down.
Travel volume in June, however, increased on a year-over-year basis versus 2019 levels.
