FCA Releases Position Statement Cautioning Opt-OE Collision Repair Parts Are Not OEM

FCA US LLC released a position statement cautioning the collision repair industry and vehicle owners that parts labeled as Opt-OE should not be confused with genuine OEM parts from the manufacturer.

According to the position statement, “Opt OE parts can seem like authentic Mopar, at a value price compared to purchasing from an FCA dealer. However, Opt OE is not OE, and can create problems for collision shops and vehicle owners.”

The statement continued, “These parts may not come from an FCA dealer and may not be manufactured to meet the same high standards as the original part. Only Authentic
