Association believes passage of HF 2234 unlikely given tone of March 3 hearing.
Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Minnesota (AASP-MN) reports that in March 3rd, the Minnesota House Commerce Committee held an oversight hearing on AASP-MN’s legislative proposal, HF 2234, to ensure coverage and payment for repairs following original vehicle manufacturer repair procedures.
HF2234 would add a subsection 18 to section 72A.201, subdivision 6 of the Minnesota Statutes that govern claims handling practices and defining unfair claims handling practices. The proposal would make it an unfair settlement practice to:
