Light Vehicles Involved in Police Reported Crashes up 4.2% in 2018

The number of passenger cars and light trucks involved in crashes increased last year.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) National Center for Statistics and Analysis report on 2018 police-reported motor vehicle crashes, the number of light vehicles involved in accidents increased versus 2017. According to the report, a total of 11,328,000 passenger cars and light trucks were involved in police-reported accidents last year, up 454,000 or 4.2% from 10,874,000 in 2017.
