U.S. Independent Collision Repair Shop Population Continues to Grow in 2019

Data on the collision repair shop population shows the number of independent establishments continued to grow in the first quarter.

The latest data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that the independent collision repair facility population in the first quarter of the 2019 continued to increase in the U.S. overall. The first quarter result marks the second consecutive year that independent collision repair establishments have increased.

As the chart below shows, the number of independent auto body repair establishments in the U.S. increased in both the first quarters of 2018 and 2019 compared to the previous year. The
