National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) 2019 Chairman Charlie Gilchrist announced October 8 the organization’s support for the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) at the Automotive Press Association luncheon in Detroit, Mich.
The USMCA was signed last November by the United States, Canada and Mexico and the new trade agreement is designed to replace the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
The agreement must be ratified by the legislatures of the three countries before it takes effect. Until that time, the existing NAFTA regulations remain in place.
