Collision Repair Facilities Report Widespread Impact on Parts Supply from General Motors Strike

More than 80 percent of respondents report part supply issues on GM vehicles attributed to UAW strike.

Collision repair facility operators across the U.S. are reporting they have experienced parts delivery delays on General Motors vehicles that have been attributed to the ongoing strike between the manufacturer and the UAW that began on September 16. Preliminary results from a CollisionWeek survey, launched September 26, indicated more than four out of every five collision repair centers report parts have been delayed.

As CollisionWeek reported last week, GM has been working to minimize disruption to the supply of parts available to service
