Last week the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) launched an investigation into the performance of the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system on Model Year 2017-2018 Nissan Rouge vehicles.
According to the NHTSA Office of Defect Investigation (ODI) it received the defect petition (DP19-001) from the Center for Auto Safety (CAS) on March 21 alleging that the AEB system on MY 2017-2018 Nissan Rogue and Rogue Sport vehicles was engaging in cases where there was no obstruction in the path of the vehicle.
The CAS petition additionally alleged that, based on Nissan’s actions, the manufacturer is aware of the issue
