Root Insurance announced its entry into California. According to the company its auto insurance is now available to 60% of the U.S. population.
Californians will be able to sign up for Root’s insurance through the Root Insurance app or the website. To get their rate, drivers simply estimate their annual mileage and submit their information.
Through smartphone technology and data science, Root measures driving behavior and uses it as the primary factor in determining rates. The results are personalized car insurance for good drivers, better rates, and a seamless mobile app experience.
