Thatcham Research, the insurance industry funded research center in the United Kingdom, today announced it was providing much needed clarity on how to manage vehicle repairs involving advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Adaptive Cruise Control.
According to Thatcham, more than 10 per cent of vehicles on the road today in the UK are fitted with AEB, equating to some 4 million cars. However, there is a dearth of information on how to approach the repair of these safety critical systems.
