For the eighth straight month, the increase in body repair prices was above the rate of inflation. Auto insurance price increased below inflation in March.
The most recent government figures on inflation through March 2019 indicate the rate of growth of auto body repair prices continues above inflation, but was down on a month-over-month basis. With slower growth in general inflation, auto body repair price growth rates have declined, but less than inflation.
Comparing the average monthly increase for the most recent 12-month period to the previous 12-month period, however, indicates increasing growth for auto body repair prices.
