Universal Technical Institute Reports Fiscal Q1 2019 Revenue Up 2.3%

New student starts up 14.8 percent.

Universal Technical Institute, Inc. (NYSE: UTI), reported financial results for the fiscal 2019 first quarter ended December 31, 2018. Revenues increased 2.3 percent to $83.1 million, compared to $81.2 million for the prior year period. An additional earning day and higher average tuition with virtually flat average students led to increased revenues.

UTI logoOperating expenses were $90.3 million, compared to $84.8 million for the prior year period. Of the $5.5 million increase, $4.2 million was due to the one-time transformation consultant termination cost. The growing student population at its new Bloomfield campus added $1.6 million
