Auto physical damage indicators influencing the collision repair industry declined during the third quarter of 2018 compared to the previous year. Claims remain below year ago levels while losses increased.
According to the latest available Fast Track Monitoring system data from the Independent Statistical Service Inc. (ISS), private passenger collision claims decreased in the U.S. during the 12 months through the third quarter of 2018 compared to the year ending with the third quarter of 2017. Claims in the third quarter were also slightly below the year ending in the second quarter of 2018, but losses were up both year-over-year
