Auto Care Association Survey Finds Consumers Want Access and Control of Vehicle Data

Survey findings reveal low awareness among U.S. vehicle owners of the data their cars produce as well as who owns this data.

More than 8 in 10 U.S. vehicle owners and lessees believe car owners should have full access to and control of their vehicle’s data, including maintenance and repair information, according to the results of a survey released by the Auto Care Association.

Auto Care AssociationThe survey, conducted in August by Ipsos, a market research company, found 86 percent of consumers said vehicle owners should have access to driver and vehicle telematics data. Additionally, the survey found 88 percent of consumers
