Coalition Launches Campaign to Oppose Section 232 Auto Tariffs

The Driving American Jobs Coalition, a group representing the United States’ auto manufacturers, parts suppliers, auto dealers, parts distributors, retailers, and vehicle service providers, announced the formation of a new coalition to oppose potential new tariffs on imported automobiles and motor vehicle parts.

In July, the U.S. Department of Commerce heard testimony from OEM and aftermarket suppliers on the Section 232 National Security Investigation of Imports of Automobiles and Automotive Parts. Imported autos and parts face a tariff of 25 percent if the Commerce Department concludes that imports threaten national security.
