While below the rate of overall inflation in the U.S., auto body repair prices in July were up nearly three percent compared to a year ago.
The most recent government figures on inflation through July 2018 indicate the rate of growth of auto body repair prices is increasing after slowing somewhat in the first few months of the year. Both general inflation and auto body repair prices have increased at greater annual rates than earlier this year.
Comparing the most recent 12-month period to the previous 12-month period shows a softening in the rate of increase.
