Root Insurance announced that it is now available vehicle owners in both Maryland and North Dakota. The company, that recently announced an expanded staff presence at its headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, plans to offer coverage nationwide by 2019.
Root uses smartphone technology and data science to understand actual driving behavior, the primary factor in determining personal automobile insurance rates. The carrier is licensed by the Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas and Utah Departments of Insurance.
