House Bill 8013 proposes to amend the time limits for using aftermarket body parts and require insurance companies to pay for OEM procedures.
Rhode Island House Bill 8013 (HB 8013), that proposes to expands the state’s existing requirement that insurers pay for OEM parts on claims for 30 months after a vehicle is manufactured to all claims for a period of 48 months, was amended and passed by the House of Representative by a vote of 59-8. The bill is similar to Rhode Island Senate Bill 2679 that was unanimously approved by the Senate in May.
