Rhode Island OEM Collision Repair Parts and Procedures Bill Schedule for Hearing Tomorrow

Senate Bill 2679 would expand non-OEM parts prohibition to 48 months, require OEM repair procedures.

Rhode Island Senate Bill, that was introduced in March by State Senators Maryellen Goodwin, Dominick Ruggerio and Michael McCaffrey, is scheduled for a hearing tomorrow, May 8 before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Ruggerio is President of the Senate and McCaffrey is the Senate Majority Leader.

The bill, that seeks to expand restriction currently in place on non-OEM collision repair body parts in first-party claims to any collision damaged parts, was previously held for further study by the committee at a hearing on April 3.
