New Hampshire Governor Signs Bill Establishing Committee to Study Collision Repair Labor Rates

Governor Sununu signed legislation to study rates paid by auto insurers to independent collision repair shops.

On Friday, April 20, New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu signed House Bill 1663 (HB 1663), that establishes a committee to study reimbursement rates under automobile insurance policies.

HB 1663, that was introduced earlier this year, originally sought to define the “fair and reasonable price” paid by auto insurance companies to independent repair facilities and require insurers to pay those rates. The rates could have been no less that that paid in the area to shops affiliated with dealerships.
