California DMV Launches Campaign to Combat Unlicensed Vehicle Dismantling

The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced a statewide campaign to inform the public of the health and safety risks posed by unlicensed vehicle dismantling. Dismantling a vehicle without a license is against the law and can involve stripping down vehicles, selling used vehicle parts illegally, and dumping hazardous waste into the environment.

California DMV PosterEarlier this month, DMV investigators cited 24 individuals for unlicensed vehicle dismantling in Los Angeles County. In September, the DMV targeted 35 locations in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.
