Travel volume in August continued to increase, though at a smaller rate than recent years. The growth is continuing the trend of increased driving that supports increasing collision repair industry volume and auto physical damage insurance claims across the U.S.
Travel for the month of August is estimated at 283.3 billion vehicle miles nationwide according to the most recent data released by the Federal Highway Administration.
August’s traffic volume represents an increase of 1.4 percent or 3.9 billion vehicle miles
