U.S. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, and Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.) last week announced the introduction of S. 1885, The American Vision for Safer Transportation Through Advancement of Revolutionary Technologies (AV START) Act. Sens. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) and Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) are original cosponsors. The Commerce Committee will consider the legislation at a legislative markup on Wednesday October 4.
