According to ADESA report July prices were down versus the previous month, but up over the previous year.
According to the ADESA Analytical Services’ monthly analysis of Wholesale Used Vehicle Prices, average wholesale prices in July were down month-over-month and only up on a year-over-year basis largely on the strength of pickup truck prices.
Drilling down into the data once again clearly reveals price softening on a year-over-year basis when accounting for sale type, vehicle age, model class and mileage. Retail sales have softened this summer and have not been providing the demand-side support for wholesale values they once were.
