Independent Collision Repair Facility Population Decreased Slightly in 2015

Latest data from U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reverses trend of independent collision repair facility population growth that started in 2012.

The latest available data from the U.S. Census Bureau County Business Patterns annual research series covering 2015 shows that the number of independent collision repair businesses with payroll decreased slightly in 2015 after three years of growth from 2012-2014. The number of independent collision repair facilities with payroll was 33,648 in 2015, down 161 from 33,809 in 2014. The number of independent establishments stands at 262 or 0.8 percent above the 2011 low of 33,386.
