Percentage of Dealers Operating Body Shops Down in 2016

While the percentage of dealers is down, dealership body shop sales increased over last year.

According to the latest research from the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA), 37 percent of dealerships featured on-site body shops in 2016, down from 39 percent in 2015 but above the 36 percent in 2014.

Based upon the percentages reported by NADA, there were approximately 6243 dealers operating body shops in 2016, a small decrease due to the decline in the percentage operating on-site body shops compared to 2015.
