Auto Sales Expected to Increase in March

J.D. Power and LMC Automotive predict retail sales rise of more than 2 percent for only second time in thirteen months.

The auto industry will see its first year-over-year monthly increase of 2017 as March retail sales are expected to increase 2.4 percent, according to a forecast developed jointly by J.D. Power and LMC Automotive. Total sales are expected to increase 1.6 percent.

U.S. new-vehicle retail sales in March are expected to reach 1,245,700 units, a 2.4 percent increase compared with March 2016, while total light-vehicle sales are expected to reach 1,620,300 units, a 1.6 percent increase. March will be
